Hyundai Venue the much-awaited compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) will officially start their sales on 21st May. The official bookings will commence for this small SUV on 2nd May. Hyundai Venue will be the best competitor for Mahindra XUV 300, Maruti Vitra Brezza, Ford EcoSport, and Tata Nexon. The compact SUV Venue was already revealed by Hyundai, but they showcased the top-end variant model. As of now, you can even have a test drive of Venue compact SUV on the Indian roads.
Hyundai Venue with the spotted variant has missed out the special features like Fog lamps, grille chrome treatment, DRLs, and projector headlamps. Additionally, the fenders were mounted with the turn indicators; instead, it has to be integrated with the ORVMs. This compact SUV has steel wheels which are covered with plastic covers. This variant might also miss out the touchscreen infotainment system and as well as a sunroof.
Hyundai Venue comes with brushed silver added to a black cabin which has gear lever housing, steering wheel, inner-door handles, and air convents. The overall design of this SUV is similar to the global-spec model which comes with a standard 5-seater cabin. The seats are designed to match the SUV with black leather upholstery and white stitching to the edges to get a nice contoured design. It has the headrests removal feature for all passengers at the four corners. In addition to the steering wheel, it has the all-new dashboard design.
Engine & Transmission
Hyundai Venue comes with three engine options: two options for petrol and one for diesel. Kappa Dual VTVT technology is the special techniques that is used for petrol engines.
All-new 1.0-litre, which is a turbo-petrol engine, has the capable of massive 118 BHP and offered with manual transmission of 6-speed and automatic dual-clutch transmission of 7-speed. The 1.2-litre petrol engine has capability of peak power of 82 BHP with 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.4-litre diesel engine has capability of peak power of 89 BHP with 6-speed manual transmission.
The competitors like Mahindra XUV 300, Maruti Vitra Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Nissan Terrano and Tata Nexon offers the same set of features provided by the Hyundai Venue SUV system.
Hyundai Venue has claimed the fuel efficiency depending upon the engine options. 1.0-litre turbo petrol has the fuel efficiency on manual transmission of 18.27 kmpl and automatic transmission for 18.15 kmpl. 1.2-liter petrol has the fuel efficiency of 17.52 kmpl, while the company claims that the Venue SUV 1.4-litre diesel engine offers the mileage of 23.70 kmpl.
Braking and Safety
Hyundai Venue offers drum braking system at the rear and discs brakes in the front. This compact SUV offers various standard features like Hill assist control, Vehicle Stability system, ESC, 6 airbags, high-speed alert, seat belt pretensioners, auto door look with speed sensing, auto door look with impact sensing, reverse parking sensors, and ABS with EBD. Venue also offers you to get the key fob with distress alarm and IRVM with SOS button.
There are 4 transmission levels available for sub-4 meter SUVs (SX(O), SX, S, E) with the combination of 11 variants. The SUV variant with petrol version will be within the price range from Rs 6.50 Lakhs to Rs 11.10 Lakhs. The Diesel version will be Rs 7.75 Lakhs – Base model and Rs 10.84 Lakhs – top model.
